Local Photo Restore makes old family photographs clearer on your iPhone or iPad while preserving the original.

A photo will not load

Confirm Photos access in Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos, then try choosing the image again.

Enhancement takes time

Larger photos require more on-device processing. Keep the app open and avoid Low Power Mode when possible. Very large photos are capped near 17 megapixels after enhancement; cropping in Photos first speeds things up and focuses the detail where you want it.

The result is too warm, too cool, or too contrasty

Lower the Remove Yellow Tint or Restore Contrast slider. The preview updates as you move the control. Auto Fix is a starting point; you can always adjust it. The yellow tint guide explains how to judge the amount.

The app didn’t fix a scratch, tear, or glare

That’s expected. The app doesn’t repair physical damage or reflections. See options for damaged photos and how to photograph prints without glare.

Restore a purchase

Update to version 1.0.4 or later for full access to every restoration tool and full-resolution saving. The current app does not require a separate feature unlock.

Manage a subscription from an earlier version

Open iPhone Settings, tap your name (Apple Account), then Subscriptions.

Keep the original

Local Photo Restore saves a new copy and does not overwrite the source photo.
